Candied Orange Slices

This is a great recipe for those of you, who like me get conned into buying those "easy peel" mandarins only to discover when you get them home, that they're nothing of the sort.
While I have to admit my orange slices took substantially longer to be "no longer sticky to touch" I'm thinking that maybe my slices, though thin, may not have been quite thin enough. The remanding syrup has an absolutely delicous orange and cinnamon flavour. I'm thinking of using it for an orange drizzle cake someday soon, I'll keep you posted. The whole thing is quite Christmassy as far as I'm concerned. I know it's a bit early but I'm already picturing the slices in the Christmas tree, if they last that long! ;0)
