Homemade Muesli

This is Muesli is so quick and easy to throw together and is also very adaptable. Generally it is made up of a combination of whatever Dried Fruit, Nuts and Seeds I have in my press, but you could go for a particular type. Tropical for example, Dried Banana Chips, Dried Papaya, Hazelnuts, Shredded Coconut etc.
I like to make my own because I feel it's healthier than the shop brought ones and you can control exactly how much (or little!) goes into it. Just be warned that quite a lot of dried fruit has added sugar, so keep an eye on this if your going for a super healthy mix!

Muesli

1kg Quick cook Porridge Oats
100g dried cranberries (sweetened)
100g Sultanas
100g Dried Apple Rings (chopped)
100g Almond Flakes (toasted)
20g Shredded Coconut.

Toast Flaked Almonds in a frying pan, keep them moving as when they start to brown they're easy to burn. Leave to cool. Chop the Apple Rings. Combine the Toasted Almonds and Dried Apple with the rest of the ingredients and stir well to combine. Keep in an airtight container. Serve with a good dash of milk! :0)

  1. Hmm, looks nice but a bit healthy for me. Think I'll stick to the drop scones and the bacon baps!
